You would need the correct mounting bracket or fabricate your own in order to center the shifter over the top like that. Also you may have to get new shift rods if making this move, forward and to the center, will throw their alignment off.

The shifters themselves should all be the same just the brackets and shift levers are different.
Here are the two other brackets I know of and now you mention you have one from a Van application...
