Stub shafts are the same, and yes the GM hubs go for a pretty good price. If you plan on going to 35 spline stubs a set of Warns will probably be about the same price as Selectro's.

I know what you mean about the weight of these things, I just recently sold Sakohntr a complete 60 and he hauled it in the back of a mini van, you should have seen that thing squat. I am just about ready to pull mine back out for a rebuild and to replace shock brackets for my high rear steer setup. Also got a new set of Skyjacker softrides to replace the Rancho springs.
