The barge had to be trucked to Lake Roosevelt and assembled. Using a system of Flexi-Floats the barge was assembled and welded together. A wood deck of crane mats (8" x 8" beams if I remember correctly) was laid down for the transporter to ride on.(
https://www.flexifloat.com/Reference...onPhotoGallery Attached to the front of the barge were a pair of 500 HP thrusters (Think large outboard engine that turns 360 degrees). Then 2 small tugboats for propulsion with a 3rd one for a back up. In addition we had a jet sled to run ahead of the barge and take soundings.
