If it is electric, there are 2 wires running to the switch on the rear end. You can ohm the wires to determine which is high and which is low. Then make sure your switch on the shifter is aligned to the right wire. Pretty simple.

I took mine out today, is a 1970 c60 with 366 and 4 speed. I topped out at 55. Possibly could have gotten more but I was happy with that.
