Thanks...I am not sold on doing this, but it is fun to play with right now.
I took a second piece of scrap wood and burned it a little darker...sat them side by side in the truck...I think I like the lighter (left one) better.
They both have a spray on lacquer finish...I will do a brush on varnish/lacquer, sand and buff when I get to that, but the spray on was easier and I had it on my shelf.
