In my previous post (find the double burger) I mentioned removing the roll pin on top for the 4 speed shifter...DON’T DO IT!!!...
Here’s the right way...
1. I had to use a little lubricant to get the top to depress down against spring pressure...you may not have to. Note the opening where shifter goes in, is positioned straight ahead.
2. Get over the top of the silver ring and press down hard!
3. When you get it pressed down, turn an 1/8th turn counter-clockwise. See red arrow. Again, normally the opening you see is positioned straight ahead.
4. Remove shifter
5. Plug up the hole on top the trans to keep debris from getting in.
