That's a great recommendation. Relying on chassis ground can lead to trouble when those parts of the electrical circuit get corroded, as we see very time somebody has trouble with their tail/stop/marker lights. I actually installed the ground cable for the starter directly on the starter. A little bit of resistance makes a big difference when everything is hot (which increases resistance) or a bit corroded (which increases resistance even more).
