It has spent a lot of time outside, degenerating, and in fact, on my drive the one end fell off completely.

So how do you fix wood?

With welding, it’s always easy to melt more metal back into a hole.

So I dismantled both ends and filled the holes with thin dowels I had cut from some scrap wood.

Then drove new, 45mm longer screws into the holes.



Then painted it all up once reassembled.



Done.



And of course waiting...... truck.
