most of the trucks u have seen this on dont run that long. mud pits. its good to get as much weight behind the tranny as u can, with all the engine wight there in the front. helps to have some weight on your traction gettin tires, especially if your pulling the front from those wicked hole shots
it does help to keep muddy water out of the fins too, until the clods start dropping on it.
