I had the same problem when the original switch went bad. I had to hunt around, switch back and forth before I got anything. As I recall it was random, but I belief the idea was go to high then other speeds would work, at least at first. This one worked on all speeds but I only use low normally. While driving I worked the switch and it seemed to not blow on some speeds. That's why I checked it when I got home, after shutting off, and now nothing. I did buy the module and haven't installed. Now I do suspect that could be the issue. I was able to get the GM part from Rock Auto. I guess I might have tossed a good OEM switch and now have two working replacements
