I thought if you were running a woodgrain tailgate band, that you could use a chevy or gmc tailgate and not know the difference. However, the tailgate band does not fully cover the GMC stamp, particularly the "oval" surround of the gmc letters.

This is interesting. See pic of the gate on my 72 Sierra Grande below. Look at the placement of the band in relation to the recessed area above. My band is mounted lower compared to the other GMC pics posted and the stamped area is covered. I've never noticed any signs of the band being moved/lowered?
