Hard to believe that people would buy them looking just like that and absolutely run them into the god forsaken ground.

Today if any of us had the chance to buy one like that just-out-of-the-blue like it was a normal thing, we'd have a heart attack and protect it like our first born child.......much less beat the snot out of it, overload it, leave it outside in brutal sun/rain, turn wiring into rats nest with cheapest Kmart radio you can find, etc etc.
