You are always way better off to start a new thread than stick your question on the tail end of a long dead thread. Guys will answer the first question again but never see your question. We don't care how many times a similar question gets asked but you usually don't get the best answers being a tag along.

I am not well versed in GMC engine serial numbers except that knowing the first three numbers denote engine size. There isn't much on the early GMC engines in the http://www.oldgmctrucks.com/index.html website that as far as I know is the go to GMC knowledge base. He doesn't have big truck numbers on those pages though.

77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.
