They did come with big blocks...and I'm sure your rear would hold up, for a while anyways.
I have seen stock rears hold up to high 12 second passes, and tons of street time. Ole boy drove that truck for almost 20 years and totaled it in 2000. the whole time he had it, it was never slower than mid 13's.
Never had a single problem with the rear.
