I have never had the issue on this generation, but know a few folks that have. Most seem to say there is some sort of electrical issue in the ABS module where they resoldered some connection. I have also seem a couple, mostly on the GMT400 models) where slight leak caused the issue. I do believe you will need a code reader to reset the error. I can't remember what my friends said on theirs. I know one borrowed my reader to reset some codes, but don't reewmeber is it was the brake issue or not.
