When you said the trans tail is centered to the rearend did you mean the tailshaft is centered between the frame rails?
Most motors have the tailshaft offset 1/2 to 1 inch towards the passenger side. That’s to compensate for the pinion being offset the same.
You need the centreline of the motor parallel to the centreline of the pinion.
You can get some weird vibrations if not set up right.
