Also I wanted to mention that a lot of people shave 2 inches off the bottom front of the oil pan and plate it with aluminum. This would allow the engine and trans to drop down 2 inches maybe enough to make the factory hood clear. I know that would involve a lot of work though now that you have it mostly reassembled.
