If you back up the holes with some copper plate you can puddle a weld over the hole then smooth off the bump either a flappy wheel or rolloc, my choice is a cutoff wheel slowly and carefully. Its much more controllable and easier to see exactly where you are in the process. just dont bind the disc or put much pressure sideways. This process has served me well in years past.
