After doing some more research on vacuum modulators I'm starting to think maybe mine was going bad in general. I had smoke on the exhaust, smells of transmission fluid, fluid showing low and it shifted pretty hard prior to going out. I'm going to check my vacuum lines this evening but may swap it out anyways. Cheap insurance. Will relay how it goes. Thank you for pointing me in that direction!
