My dad had a green Datsun just like that when I was a kid. He had a red one that looked somewhat similar to the red one in your post but not as nicely done. I was in college at the time and it was dark when I got home but I noticed the truck had an odd stance for a Datsun.

Asked my dad about it and he said, "Let's go for a ride and you can drive." Holy cow what a death trap. Had a small block V8 in it and the front suspension and rear end out of some Nova. Scary quick and no idea what the top end was. He took a bit of money from teenagers in their hot rods in that little truck.
