that and our switch to metric .... you'll see we are still using MPH signs, get our gas by the gallons and track our distance by miles! Old stuff has a habit of not dying in the USA!
Don't even get me started on broadcast timecode for NTSC Drop Frame, that was done to keep Black & White TVs operational as Color was coming in - then NTSC Drop Frame timecode was kept for HD content. My God, we can't just move on with anything LOL
