I used to know more about all the ratios and gears, but it's not something I've messed with in several years. I was in the same boat as you when working on my own truck, and the math said what to use, but I'm still running a little fast at the speedometer. Part of that could be the almost 60 year old speedometer not being as accurate as modern gauges, or the 33" tires only having 35 psi makes for a shorter sidewall on the bottom half of the tires, etc.
Mine was supposed to be corrected, but is about 5 mph off, but I would rather it read a little fast then slow though.
