Rare. Dodge trucks were out sold by ford and gm nearly 3-1 back in the 50's and 60's.

Thats why I suggested the 94-02 dodge truck frame and setting the body over it. You get everything you want. Cheap starting point, easy and cheap for parts and you can tow and get some economy. The hard part is putting the body over it. I still think it would be easier then grafting different suspensions onto your existing frame. Then again I see your in that mess of commiefornia. Other members have posted how expensive used/donor vehicles are there.

I can buy a 150K mile running and driving 94-02 dodge 2500 2wd ext cab long bed for $1500 or less with a rotted body here. More than likely under $1200.
