Hey there, welcome the the site. First thing first, upload some pics of your truck when you get a chance. As far as the hood you might try oiling every pivot point on your hinges, grease the moving parts on the latch and where the striker/pin goes into the latch. The pin may need some adjustment the line up better after the bump's and bruises you described this rig may have. While you have the oil out you might what to lube your door hinges too.
