My dad had an aluminum one on a mid 70's truck, 8' box.
I could install or remove it by myself when I was17. ( it's all about leverage ).
Fiberglass ones are heavier of course but they're fiberglass, not cast iron.
It is a truck after all. It was meant to carry loads.
