On Saturday I made a 870 mile round trip connonball run down to St. Augustine Florida yesterday to pick up the wife's new ride. With this Covid BS it was almost impossible to find the color/engine/options we wanted. This thing is LOADED. 2.0L Turbo Premier (255 HP), 9 sp auto, full leather, bose sound system (genuinely awesome), 360 camera system (awesome), autostart, heated and cooled seats, dual climate zone, nav... it has everything but a sunroof which we did not want, wasn't worth $1,400, which made finding this one that much harder. Why not have it shipped you ask? I don't spend money where I don't need to and the $950 shipping fee... or $180 rental dump off that was across the street (drop fee was $$), $55 in fuel, and another $30 on food and Dr. Pepper. Plus, road trips are fun. Haven't seen the east side of Florida in probably 15 years, we always end up on the gulf side. It was a nice Town. I drove a few miles down A1A and looked at the ocean for a few minutes before the trip home.
Between all 5 dealerships within 30 minutes of me... there was a total of 3 2.0L Premier models. I tried to buy 3 different ones over the past 2 weeks that were much closer, but they all sold before we could close (or even start) the deal.
