While I was looking for what kind of trans you have to figure out where to look for a yoke I spotted this and it appears that that clutch rod is upside down. If you look at the diagram that was posted in another post it shows it the reverse of what it is installed . That will give a straighter pull than what you have now.
If it has the stock three or four speed it should not have ATF in it it should have 80/90 gear oil but there are some gear oil brands that are red and might look like ATF. If it has a T-5 or other 5 speed it may indeed run ATF.
