With the help of a good friend, was able to get the motor squared away and painted. Rounded it all out with some LS7 lifters and LS9 head gaskets. Heads are torqued down with ARP studs. I went with an machinery gray for the block, wanted to stay away for the reds and oranges. Used an adapter kit to allow any SBC valve cover to work and cover the coils. Will have to modify down the road to get oil in this thing, other than down the dipstick
