Kinda sounds like you need a vehicle specific tune. It seems you may have a simple generic "get it running" tune. My truck has a 1999 5.7 with a T56 and 3.73 posi. Guys that have a similar setup say it will be an absolute blast. I fit were me, I would put that moolah in a tune. It would be easier on the knuckles and possibly better results. If you change the rear gears, you will still need a tune.
