A Camaro tank is right at 39.375 wide. That according to these measurements
Fuel Tank Length (in.):
39.375 in.
Fuel Tank Width (in.):
20.875 in.
Fuel Tank Height (in.):
7.750 in.

As many times as I have measured the frames I don't remember the inside measurements off the top of my head.
I can't actually read them off the image I saved off the assembly manual either.
