I briefly considered doing just that and realized it's not a lot of work, it's an insane amount of work. The door handles and window cranks are all supported by wood. Another thing to consider is the considerable weight you'd be adding. I'm just as much a woodworker as I am a mechanic but this setup just seems like a terrible design and it's no wonder the model As are much more sought after
