You have got me thinking. I always thought you had to weld in a filler at the front of the window frame to use single glass. Correct me if I'm wrong but assuming I already have to replace all the weather striping, channel felts, etc. Is the only other cost the glass? And labor for modification? From looking at the photo "doormod" it appears like the factory mechanism is designed to pivot the glass around the front as it drops. It also looks like the front channel is NOT parallel to the back to allow for the glass being narrower at the bottom, right?

I rebuilt my regulators before so they are good and I have spare door guts from two other doors. I have mine completely disassembled and it does not look like that much work. One of my vents windows is broken and the drivers glass is pretty scratched up from 40 years of scraping ice off it so it was going to be replaced too.
