No, not a bad choice...it will work fine.
Just one thing, if you drive this during the colder season, it would be beneficial to plumb the cooler thru the radiator for the colder months.
The trans needs to come up to operating temp quickly especially during cold weather.
Do you have an electric fan system pulling air thru the radiatir?
