Re: My '67 Fleetside C10 renew

The Purdy truck saga continues. Turns out that it was in "limp mode", which only allows it to go fwd in some middle gear. By the time it got towed to the dealer it had reset itself. They say it had logged a traction control error and a TCM error. No further details. They couldn't duplicate the problem, which I guess equals fixed. BS! The did replace the rear seal in the t-case because I pointed out that it was leaking. They ignored the wet power steering hose I pointed out. Guess they need to burst before they're bad. GM Certified AND a GM check-up after I bought it. Hmm... I took the second service advisor for a spin and he too heard the crunchy noise between 1 and 2. Another appointment scheduled for Tuesday. I had a '14 for a loaner while they had mine for a WEEK and it sure doesn't make any racket like that. UGH!

On a better note, driveline is done! 4" DOM for an appropriate critical speed Wasn't cheap dudes, more than half of what I paid for the whole C10 I asked that they didn't rattle-can it. I'll degrease it, prime it and shoot it with the semi-gloss tractor paint I've been using. It was funny when I called and asked them not to paint it. "It's gonna rust you know". I laughed... "whether you paint it or not".

Clutch going in the Crummy this weekend.
