Rochester 2G fuel issue

I have a 1965 283 that was in my 1970 C10 when I bought it. Just completed a rebuild on the motor and carb. The engine runs and stops great on a cold start. If I let the engine get up to operating temperature and shut it down fuel will spill out of the side vent holes of the carb all over the intake. After that it is very hard to restart warm. I have read that it could be a float issue, pressure issue or heat problem. BTW the tag is missing from the carb so I am not sure of the exact model. Any suggestions??
