Some people use 3M Panel Bond between the hood and the the rear cross member / brace. I welded mine. Now when the hood closes it does not wiggle side to side, which happens when you try to close it with out that X-bar support. I didn't want to spend the money on the Panel Bond applicator gun or drive the 7 miles to the paint and body supply shop so I just welded it. Here a clip from You Tube on Panel Bond
