Got it up and running late last night! So gratifying! Ran into a few snags but we pushed through. First the starter was grounding out on the trans cooler lines and then we realized we forgot a ground strap from the engine to frame but as soon as we figured those out she started right up and purred like a lion
those DT headers are awesome! I'll see if I can get a video up later today.
Huge thanks to everyone here who gave me a helping hand and especially to wasted income and br3w city.
And for those of you keeping score at home my total was closer to 6k, not 3... most of my extra cost came from problems with the year and options on my truck, not necessarily the engine. I think I could have done it for much cheaper, but in my case cheaper meant sacrificing a lot of safety and reliability and I wasn't willing to do that.
