Likewise, the truck in my signature is a v20, which is the same as a k20. "v" or "k" = 4wd, "20" = 3/4-ton.
1973-1986 = All trucks were squarebody style, and they used the C and K to refer to 2wd and 4wd.
1987 = All the trucks were still squarebody style, but the C and K were temporarily dropped. R and V were used instead.
1988-1991 = Most of the trucks were the new gmt400 style, and used the C and K designations. There were a few squarebody's still being produced. These included the Blazer, Suburban, and a few other specialty models. The squarebody style continued to use the R and V designation.
1992+ = All trucks were gmt400 style, and they used the C and K to refer to 2wd and 4wd.
