If you are talking about the 2 wire plug on the top right side carburetor that is the connector for the mixture control solenoid does not anything to do with accelerator pump. It was common for that plug to break off the locking tap, at the dealerships we would just run two zip ties between the wires and around the whole connector. The only connector that has anything to do with the accelerator pump is the 3 wire connector on the left side front of the carburetor, it is the Throttle Position Sensor and has nothing to do with the operation of the pump at all.
