Ok just checked. I'm on iOS 15.5 I checked my camera settings and I have it set on High Efficiency not Most Compatible. I tried downloading a pic I took today to the board straight from my phone, it loaded as a JPEG without me doing anything to it. You must have a newer phone than I do, I'm still using an iPhone 10S. Cant think of any other reason it changed up on you.
