I've never seen a law that states that a plate has to be in a specific spot front or rear as long as it is visible and not hidden behind something.

That cop would have gone nuts over my 77 Dualie flatbed with the 10 ft bed as the tail lights and license plate are on a big steel plate at the end of the frame about 30 inches in front of the back of the actual tilt flatbed.

The hoist and bed are so heavy that I loose about 1200 lbs of carrying capacity.
