Actually looking at how the aftermarket ones are designed using micro switch assemblies it should not be horribly difficult just figuring out the method to activate and spring strength. I almost went that route for myvtap shifter but I found a shifter conversion kit that does it a similar way. Steve seems best price on them switches with all the wire runs 125 bucks. I did find some short switches without the wire for 35 a piece. Pur knurled mount sticks out 1.52 inches from the base.
