The paper manuals are definitely worth getting. You can usually pick them up fairly cheap for the exact year if you're patient and aren't too picky about covers and greasy fingerprints.
PDF files are not as garage friendly if you don't have a hardened PC.
I have the ST330-79 & ST330-81 service manuals in the queue. They had no covers but only cost $4...
