Thanks. I did the caps myself. Prep included a course pad to the areas to paint to rough up the stainless a little), thin (not wide, around a quarter inch wide = easier for masking off the edges) vinyl tape (high end auto parts store that sells paint materials) to mask off the edges, then masking tape/paper to mask of the larger areas and then rattle can. I had a special can mixed to match the GMC red (I have a guy in town who matches paint in a can, with a good nozzle - for rattle can jobs). I bought an over the counter high quality can of black - specifically for automotive trim.
In a nutshell - rattle can with a lot of prep involved.
