Made a new mounting piece and welded it to the original mount. It will now be held down similar to the original using the valve cover bolts. Cleaned up the welds and primed/painted it. I also put a small piece of heat resistant HD rubber under it so that it is not rubbing metal on metal with the old head style valve cover. I think it should hold up and since that was the original way they ran I figured I would not need new cables or fancy (expensive) cable mounts. We will see when it comes back with the engine.
