So with all the welds cleaned, sanded, re welded and re sanded. all the burrs and gunk and spatter was cleared off. Then I primed and painted, underside first then the top part last.
I used Rustoleum's Appliance Epoxy because I had mostly had good luck with it holding up on other things.
