Re: New Pole Shed Nebraska

After the garage was gone I dug up a lot of concrete and cleaned up the site getting ready for dirt work.
I live in a rural area that is flat farmland between 2 major rivers. So according to the Feds I am in the flood plain. We built our old shop in 1992, it is 48x68x12' high. Half of it is finished into a wood shop, the other half is shop space. When we built that shop there were no height regs. for the flood plain rules. Things have changed since then. We now have to have a survey done to determine our average elevation of our lot. then go 3' above that average to determine the floor height top of concrete. Even though our house has never flooded.
This is the result.

55 dump trucks of fill clay, plus about 20 dump trucks of black dirt the county was digging out of the ditches a couple of miles from my house. My dirt contractor used a rubber tire loader, a skid steer, and a compactor for a week on and off to get it built up
The new shop will be 48x60x16.5' high, it will have 2 overhead doors on the left half. The right half will be an entertainment space/man cave. So I will build a partition wall inside at 30'. We are planning a loft in the finished half.
