In all honesty, I would say don't hold your breath. I have done a few engine swaps into British cars and the temp gauge was always one of the nuisance items. When I really wanted the dash to stay stock looking, I would machine a custom bushing to fit the stock sender into the US engine. If I didn't care how it looked, I would just replace the dash gauge with a Stewart-Warner.
