No, they are floating. I have never had a problem running the hard line straight to a floating caliper. I use stainless steel annealed line, it is more flexible when annealed. The only down fall I see doing it this way is that whenever the owner goes to replace rear pads he will have to disconnect the hard lines and re bleed the brakes... Once every 40,000 miles or so, so really not that big of a deal.
