Here are a few more pictures of the 6 vs 8 manual trans cross member . I did this conversion on my 67 short bed frame to mount the 350 v8 in the correct position .

the V8 cross member is on the left with picture of the V8 engine perches . changing cross members with the cab on the frame is tough . You can drop a small block in using most of the 6 parts and a lot of guys do to avoid all the extra work and a bunch of new parts to do a correct 6 to V8 conversion install .
